Package Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arrival at Paro Airport – Thimphu (65 Kms. & 2 Hrs)

Welcome to Bhutan! After arriving at Paro Airport and followed by the formalities regarding Visa / Permit, you will met our Bhutan representative who will assist you in transfers to Thimphu (2320 Mts / 7656 Fts), Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan and the centre of government, belief and trade, Thimphu is an exceptional city with extraordinary blend of contemporary progress alongside olden traditions. After reaching Thimphu, check in to the hotel. Evening will be free at leisure. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Thimphu.

DAY 2

Day 2: Thimphu

After having the breakfast you will go for Thimphu sightseeing including – Memorial Chorten (the most noticeable spiritual landmark in Bhutan), Tashichho Dzong (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be dressed properly. No half pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are allowed) also called as Fortress of the Glorious Religion, Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Point), Changangkha Lhakhang (Monastery) (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be dressed appropriately. No half pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are allowed) - this famous fort like temple floating on an edge above central Thimphu frequently hums with pilgrim actions, Motithang Takin Preservation centre to see the rare "Takin" which was confirmed by Royal Government of Bhutan as National Animal on 25th November 1985. After that visit the new Drupthob Goemba/ Zilukha Nunnery - floating on a peninsula, National library (major scriptural depository and research facility devoted to the preservation and encouragement of the rich literary, cultural and spiritual heritage of Bhutan. Later visit the Indigenous hospital where conventional art of healing is still adept, Institute for Zorig Chusum (Traditional Art & Craft School) (Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holidays & during Summer & Winter Vacations), Textiles Museum (Handicrafts Shops) (Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holidays). After that you will proceed to visit Zangthopelri Lhakhang (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be dressed appropriately. No half pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are allowed). Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Thimphu.
DAY 3

Day 3: Thimphu – Wangdi (70 Kms & 3 Hrs 30 min.)

After having the breakfast you will drive to Wangdi (Wangdiphodrang) (1350 Mts / 4430 Fts,). Wangdi is the last city on the highway prior to entering Central Bhutan. Enroute you will drive over Dochu La pass (3080 Mts / 10102 Fts) which is very picturesque with charming sight of mountains of Bhutan. Stopping for a moment here to take in the sight and admire the Chorten, Mani wall, and Prayer flags which beautify the highest point on the road. If sky are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this Pass (Left to Right): Mt. Masagang (7,158Mts / 23478Fts), Mt. Tsendagang (6,960Mts / 22829Fts), Mt. Terigang (7,060Mts / 23157Fts), Mt. Jejegangphugang (7,158Mts / 23478Fts), Mt. Kangphugang (7,170Mts / 23518Fts), Mt. Zongphugang (7,060Mts / 23157Fts), a table mountain that dominates the remote area of Lunana -Lastly Mt. Gangkar Puensum (7,497Mts / 24590Fts), the uppermost peak in Bhutan. After reaching Wangdi, check in to the hotel. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Wangdi.
DAY 4

Day 4: Wangdi - Gangtey Excursion (85 Kms & 3 Hrs 30 mins.) – Wangdi

After having the early morning breakfast begin your journey for a full day excursion to Gangtey & Phobjikha Valley (3000 Mts / 9845 fts) the valley of Gangtey is one of the most gorgeous spots in Bhutan. A few kilometers beyond the Gangtey Monastery, on the valley floor lie’s the village of Phobjikha. This place is the winter home of black necked cranes that migrate from the arid plains in the north to pass winter in milder and lower climate. The valley possesses two beautiful twisty rivers, Nakay Chhu (Chhu Naap-black water) and Gay Chhu (Chhu Karp-white water). Black Necked Crane Information Centre (Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holidays)- located on the rim of the forest and swamp along the main road of Phobjikha valley. Gangtey Goempa (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be dressed properly. No half pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are allowed) - hanging on a small hill that rises from the valley floor, the Gangtey Monastery is the only Nyingmapa monastery on the west side of the Black Mountain’s Gangtey valley, Bhutan and also the largest Nyingmapa monastery in Bhutan. Return to the hotel in wangdi for overnight stay.
DAY 5

Day 5: Wangdi – Paro (135 Kms & 05 Hrs)

After having the breakfast you will transfer to Paro (2134 Mts / 7000 Fts). After reaching Paro, check in to the hotel. Afternoon will be free for you at leisure. Overnight stay will be at hotel in Paro.

DAY 6

Day 6: Paro

After having the breakfast you will go for Paro Sightseeing covering Drukgyel Dzong it has a pleasant village situated at its foot, was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to honour his triumph over the Tibetan raiders. The visit to Drukgyel Dzong ruins involves soft stroll so it is advisable that one goes with walking shoes. Dzong gives an excellent view of the foothills towns and its scenery. Then proceed to visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), Rinpung Dzong (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be clothed properly. Semi pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are not allowed). After that you will visit Kyichu Lhakhang (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be clothed properly. Semi pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are not allowed) - It is one of the oldest and most holy shrines of the empire dating back to 7th century (the other is Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang). Songtsen Gampo, H.M. Ashi Kesang, the Queen Mother of Bhutan - this is an admired monastery for wedding consent among the traveller. Overnight stay will be at hotel in Paro.
DAY 7

Day 7: Paro – Haa Valley Excursion (65 Kms & 3 Hrs) – Paro

After having the early morning breakfast begin your journey for a full day excursion to Haa via Chele-la pass (3800 Mts / 12465 Fts). Drive for 4 Kms away at Bondey village the road to Haa diverts towards the right hand side and ascends towards the Chele-la pass starts. After driving through Blue Pine & Rhododendron Forest for 45 km, arrive at Chele-la pass (3988Mts / 13081Fts). From this tip one can have an excellent sight of Mt. Jhomolhari (7134 Mts / 23400 Fts) & Mt. Jichu Drake (6989 Mts / 22924 Fts). This is a very high-quality place to walk around for few minutes enjoying the view. Drive on to Haa, downhill all the way for another 22 km (under an hour’s drive), finally reaching Haa. The Haa Dzong is currently occupied by military, but the sight from outside is spectacular. After refreshment break one will visit the popular Monastery of Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be clothed properly. Semi pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are not allowed) followed by visit to Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple) (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be clothed properly. Semi pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are not allowed), Chana Dorji and Chenrizig. One can also visit Wangchulo Dzong (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be clothed properly. Semi pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are not allowed). By evening you will drive back to Paro. Overnight stay will be at hotel in Paro.

Paro - Full Day Hike To Taktsang Lhakhang (tiger`s Nest)
After having the early morning breakfast begins your journey for a day hike to Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger's Nest) (All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be clothed properly. Semi pant, sleeve less shirts, floaters, etc are not allowed). The hike which is all the way uphill takes way all the way through pine jungles. The monastery clings to a huge granite cliff 900 meters from the Paro valley. It is one of the most popular of Bhutan's monasteries. It is said that Guru Rinpoche reached here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called Tiger's Nest. Guest can also choose for Ponies on direct payment basis but for guest who are unable to make it to the top even reaching to the cafeteria area which in almost half way is very fulfilling. Evening will be free at leisure or you can also go for shopping in the market by your own. Overnight stay will be at hotel in Paro.

DAY 8

Day 8: Departure

After having the breakfast, you will get the transfers back to Paro airport where you will board the flight towards your onward journey. And you will take the happiest moments and its memories with you and also fantastic stories about your amazing trip to share with your relatives and friends.
