Dragon Nest Resort Wangdi

The Dragon's Nest Resort is situated 45 Kms from Phobjikha, the basin of the black necked cranes. The hotel is located on the shores of the Puna Tsang Chu River in Wangdiphodrang, just 3 Kms from the Wangdiphodrang Dzong and city. It’s a suitable site, and the many attractive villages, monasteries, waterfalls and hot springs situated within climbing distance, makes the hotel a base to discover ambiance for tourists and a weekend escape for residences of Thimphu.

Tenzinling Resort Paro

Tenzinling is a friendly, family fun resort. Situated in a planned site it gives a bird-eye full view of the Paro valley with an amazing Paro Dzong in the backdrop. All the 21 rooms have been oriented to give the sight of the Dzong. Built in the inherited land, the resort is enclosed by a small village in middle of apple orchards, and rice fields.

Package Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Phuentsholing

On your arrival our representative will meet and assist you at Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport to transfer you to Phuentsholling via Jaigaon. The border of India & Bhutan, Indian side is Jaigaon and the Bhutan side is called Phuentsholing. The drive will be through Dooars which is the land of wonderful beauty, sloping tea gardens with impressive views. Check into the hotel, evening will be free for leisure. Overnight stay will be at Phuentsholing.

DAY 2

Day 2: Phuentsholing – Thimphu after Permit formalities (6 Hrs 30 min & 180 Km)

After the morning breakfast you will drive to Thimpu. This drive will take you along the Paro Chu (water or river) downstream to the convergence with the Wang Chu next the road turn upstream and travel along the Wang Chu to Thimphu. You can experience breath taking view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks together with the sacred Jumolhari and Mount Jichu Drake. After reaching there, check into hotel and overnight stay will be at Thimphu.

DAY 3

Day 3: Thimphu sightseeing (Full day)

After the early morning breakfast you will drive to visit the Memorial Chorten (Stupa) build in remembrance of the third King of Bhutan who ruled the empire from 1952-1972. Next the National Library where prehistoric manuscripts are conserved, Wood Craft and Painting School - The handicrafts Emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts are displayed and can be purchased - Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest bastions in Bhutan build by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1629 A.D Return back to the hotel for overnight stay at Thimphu.

DAY 4

Day 4: Thimphu via Wangdue Phodrang - Punakha

After the early morning breakfast you will drive to Wangdue Phodrang, with a stop en route for tea break at Dochula 3,100 m, where on a clear day you can get an extravagant view of the Himalayas. By afternoon you will continue your drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, and visit Punakha Dzong which is worth mentioning both for being one of the most gorgeous Dzongs in Bhutan and also for having been built by the first Shabdrung in 1637. After reaching the place check into Hotel and by evening free to walk around the region. Overnight stay will be at Punakha.

DAY 5

Day 5: Punakha - Gangtey – Wangdue Phodrang

After the early morning breakfast you will Gangtey going through intense forests of oak trees and rhododendrons and will arrive at Gangtey Village, where you will see Gangtey Gompa, the one & only Nyingmapa Monastery in Western Bhutan. After the Gangtey, you can enjoy the pleasing Black Mountain range as well as Phobjikha Valley which is the winter home for the black necked cranes. By the evening walk through the town of Wangdue Phodrang and visit the shops. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Wangdue Phodrang.

DAY 6

Day 6: Wangdue Phodrang - Paro

After having your early morning breakfast you will drive to Punakha Valley. Punakha lies amidst snow-capped mount peaks and served as capital of Bhutan until 1955. The Punakha Dzong builds at the convergence of the Po Chu and Mo Chu rivers in the 17th Century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. The Dzong houses sacred artifacts and the mummify body of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Thereafter you will drive to Paro, check into the hotel and evening will be free for leisure an overnight stay will be at the hotel in Paro.

DAY 7

Day 7: Paro Sightseeing

After morning breakfast you will go for two hours hike to reach Taktshang monastery - Tiger's Nest Monastery. After that visit Drugyel Dzong (fortress) - The Dzong was build in 1649 by Shabdrung Nawang Namgyel to memorialize the victory of Bhutan over Tibetan Invaders in 1644which is demolished by fire in 1951. Amazing view of holy Mountain Jumolhari is worth to watch. On the way of returning view Taktsang Monastery perched on the side of a cliff at 900 meters. Visit Kychu Lhakhang, one of the ancient temples. National Museum traditionally known to the local Bhutanese as Ta Dzong or Watch Tower - build as Watch Tower (Ta Dzong) of Paro Dzong and the Valley was renovated and converted into National Museum in 1968. Evening will be free for leisure and overnight stay will be at Paro.

DAY 8

Day 8: Paro – Phuentsholing (7 Hrs & 180 Km)

After having your early breakfast you will drive to Jaigaon / Phuentsholling. Enroute you will get a short stop at Chuzom, the union of Paro and Thimpu Rivers with three different styles of stupas decorate this confluence. You will proceed further through Chapcha and later take glance of famous Chukha Dam and the wonderful Vince waterfall before Gedu town. By evening you will arrive at Arrive Phuenthsoling and check into the hotel. Evening will be free for leisure. Overnight stay will be at Phuentsholing.

DAY 9

Day 9: Departure

After having the breakfast, you will get the transfers back to airport where you will board the flight towards your onward journey. And you will take the happiest moments and its memories with you and also fantastic stories about your amazing trip to share with your relatives and friends.
