Package Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: AIRPORT/ DAMBULLA( SIGIRIYA)

Pinnawala Elephant orphanage is approximately 55 miles away from Colombo, an orphanage which was started in 1975 to the abandoned, orphan and the injured elephants. The volunteers and the individuals there take care of these elephants, feed them.

There are few other interesting places and one among them is Dambulla cave temple, which was used as a refuge for King Valagambahu in 1st century BC. This cave has the largest idols and statues of Buddha housed at one point, which also includes a 14 meter long, colossal figure carved out of the rocks. This temple is also known as the Golden temple of Dambulla.

Overnight accommodation is provided at the hotel.

DAY 2

Day 2: DAMBULLA (SIGIRIYA) - TRINCOMALEE

Sigiriya, is the ancient place located near to the town Dambulla and the Sigiriya rock fortress isbuilt by a monarch in the 5th Century. It is well known and praised for the engineering involved and the construction. The most interesting part of this is, a terracotta and a grey core of rock set in cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Remnants of the ancient city, series of water gardens and ramparts are spread on either sides of the rock. This place is designated as World heritage site by UNESCO in 1982.

Trincomalee is a major resort port city on the east coast of Sri Lanka. The city is located on a peninsula, which divides the inner and outer harbors.Trincomalee is an anglicized version of the Tamil word Tirukonamalai (which means "lord of the sacred hill"); the city had visualized the civil war and slowly growing towards the tourist zone with decent beaches and sights for tourism.It is a hill situated in the end of a natural land formation that resembles an arc. Historically referred to as Gokanna or Gokarna it has been a sea port that has played a major role in maritime and international trading history of Sri Lanka.

Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.

DAY 3

Day 3: TRINCOMALEE

Basically, it is a very compact town and hence walking is the preferable way to go in and around the town.

DAY 4

Day 4: TRINCOMALEE - KANDY

On your arrival to Kandy, finish all your check-in formalities in to the hotel. Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. It is the second largest city in the country and is well known for the heritage and named as the world heritage by UNESCO.

City Tour: On your visit to the city, you will find the world heritages as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of tooth Relic known to the Sri Lankans as DaladaMaligawa. Your next visit will be to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens which is a paradise for nature lovers. This beautiful flower Eden is restored with over 300 different varieties of orchids, other spices, medicinal plants and Palm trees. Precious gems, the sapphires of Sri Lanka, which are very exclusive and comes in shades of blue, red, green, white etc. In the evenings, you can experience, a traditional and cultural dance shows and many other events which do not include any entry fees.

DAY 5

Day 5: KANDY - COLOMBO

Transfer from Galle to Colombo.

Colombo, is a bustling city and is a point for beaches, which came into limelight in the 16th century, after the arrival of the Portuguese in 1505 and the development of it as a Harbor was taken care in the British period and then became the capital of the island nation in 1815 after Kandy was ceded to the British. Many colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian and contemporary architectural styles. In no other place is this more evident than the Fort area in the heart of the city.

Colombo is famous for shopping and has various outlets and stores for exclusive collection. Hence, has created an impression in minds of the tourists that this is an un- missable place for shopping. The remains of the buildings during the period and the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule are found in every area of the city.

While you are on your way to city tour in Colombo, you may visit famous places including Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, Twin World Trade Center Towers, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square. (Entrance fees to sites not included). For shopping, you may visit Odel, House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake, etc. The total time allocated for the whole visit is only 3 hours.

DAY 6

Day 6: COLOMBO - AIRPORT

After having the breakfast, according to your flight timing you will get the transfers to the Colombo airport where you will board the flight towards your onward journey.
