Among the princely settlements in Rajasthan, Jodhpur is one of the exclusive choices to visit. The Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur is the most majestic fort ever seen. It is 5 kilometres long and resides on a 125 meters high hill. The palace is beautiful with its panel carvings and indoor paintings. The interior of the palace includes Palanquins, Elephant howdahs, and miniature paintings and costumes of the ancient kings. The fort is much closed to the desert of Thar and hence the fort is created in a way that can save the people residing here in the summer season. The height of the Fort is used to avoid the invaders and keep them limited in a way that can help to protect the city and dwellers. The Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, is one of the most exclusive Jodhpur Palaces. This palace is the only 20th century palace in the state. It is constructed of marble and pink sandstone and is also known as the Chittar Palace. It also features a beautiful private museum, consists of a billiard room, and an indoor pool. It has several weapons of the ancient times in display, some of them gifted by Queen Victoria as well.


The Jaswant Thada Palace is an epitome of the royal ancient architecture. It was built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh the II, and is a cluster of Cenotaphs in Marble. The Mandore Garden in Jodhpur, is a major tourist attraction. The place is surrounded by greenery and moreover has temples, art galleries and lawns, for site seeing. What makes the garden the centre of attraction is the temple that resides in it which is dedicated to 330 million Gods. The place also has an art gallery that includes beautiful carvings on pillars. These pillars depict images of the Mughals and soldiers on horsebacks. The place also has a Hall o Heroes, where there are 15 figures carved on a rock wall.
